In 2017, Alain Rothstein helped launch Atlas|Innovate, the proprietary venture arm of Atlas Holdings LLC (Atlas Holdings is a $3 billion private investment firm whose portfolio companies represent a diversified group of 20 manufacturing and distribution businesses which collectively employ 18,000 associates in more than 150 global locations with more than $5 billion in revenue).
Alain leads Atlas|Innovate’s direct venture investments in early stage disruptive technologies targeting the industrial sector. He and his team leverage their domain expertise and vast ecosystem of industry relationships to support entrepreneurs building the leading industrial technology companies of tomorrow. Alain works closely with all Atlas|Innovate companies on strategic initiatives including commercialization, business development, recruiting, and financing.
Prior to Atlas|Innovate, Alain was an Operating Partner with Atlas Holdings, during which time he assisted with pre-investment due diligence and post-investment operations. In 2016, Alain served as Chief Restructuring Officer for the successful acquisition and turnaround by Atlas Holdings of one of New York City’s largest building erectors.
Alain started his career as an analyst with Interlaken Capital, a middle-market private equity firm, and later was a Principal at Vicente Capital where he focused on lower middle market buyouts and growth equity investments.
His current and past board positions include CaseStack (acquired by Hub Group), Rayne Water (acquired by Advent), Bomoda (co-founder; acquired by Weber Shandwick), X2F and Modumetal.
Alain graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Alain enjoys competitive swimming, biking, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
