The #MeToo movement has focused public attention on sexual harassment, assault and discrimination in the workplace. While media and entertainment companies have been in the spotlight regarding this issue, the less public-facing sectors of the business world — including industrial companies — are not immune. That’s why we’ll be noting important trends and changes in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement at a focused breakout session at IndEx 2020.
Leading employment lawyers at Proskauer observe that the movement is shifting into a second stage, in which there are new #MeToo inspired laws, heightened scrutiny around training and compliance, and a wave of additional lawsuits brought by employees, shareholders and others seeking legal redress.
