Industrial Innovation Challenge

The Industrial Innovation Challenge (IIC) brings tech companies to the attention of the venture capital and private equity communities, as well as operators of industrial companies. Industrial Exchange, which manages high-level forums for Industrial America, has created the IIC to introduce the best new tech products/services to the US industrial and manufacturing sector.

A panel of judges representing VC firms will review all entries and select 12 tech companies as IIC finalists. Based on the industrial segments served by the finalists, Industrial Exchange will then select judges from operating companies within those segments. VC and operating firm judges will take part in a discussion with finalists in a conference session at IndEx 2020, April 1-2, 2020 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The conversation with each finalist will cover:

  • The business problem the technology solves
  • Why the technology is innovative
  • The users of the technology
  • The payback period for implementing the technology

After each discussion, judges and audience members will score the finalists, with weights of 40% each for the VC and operator judges and 20% for the judgment of the crowd. Scores of the judges will be transparent; crowd scores will be confidential.

Winners in each of the three industrial categories will be announced at the conclusion of the session, along with an IIC Grand Prize Winner, who receives $25,000 from Industrial Exchange.
